Management of complex cases of pelvic organ prolapse | 09:00 - 12:30

👉 Number of participants is limited

The management of complex cases of pelvic organ prolapse (POP) can be highly challenging. The purpose of this pre-course is to present complex cases and to share experiences with experts to improve their management.

Course type

Video sessions, especially designed for residents and gynaecologists interested in urogynaecology and laparoscopic surgery.

Course description

The main objective of this course is to present the management of complex cases of POP: recurrences, previous mesh repairs, multicompartmental defects, how to deal with mesh complications, infections, erosions and the place of alternative techniques and robotics in such cases.

Learning objectives
  • Explaining the pre-operative evaluation, the surgical management, and the main pitfalls of complex cases of POP.
  • Video sessions describing the main steps of surgery for complex cases of POP (i.e. recurrences after previous mesh repair, redo sacrocolpopexy, concomitant urinary or ano-rectal disorders, alternative techniques).
  • Discussion and interactions of complex cases of POP with experts in urogynaecology.
Target audience

Gynaecologist Residents and Doctors interested in urogynaecology, laparoscopy and robotic surgery.

Hysteroscopy for Beginners | 09:00 - 12:30 |

 FULLY BOOKED

👉 Limited to 30 participants | This course is already fully booked

Course type

Basic. Especially designed for residents and gynaecologists interested in Hysteroscopy.

Course description

The objective of this course is to provide the basic knowledge and hand skills on diagnostic hysteroscopy regarding the technique, devices, patients management in the OR and interpretation of the endometrial pathologies.

Learning objectives
  • Overview of hysteroscopy devices setup and patients’ selection
  • Updated information regarding the cervical os entry and intrauterine pressure
  • Detailed insight to improve diagnostic accuracy and efficiency in hysteroscopy.
  • Guidance regarding description of the lesion and its anatomical location and degree of myometrial penetrance.

  • Gynaecologists, Residents and Doctors interested in Hysteroscopy.
OR Nurses in MIGS | ESGE - SIG Nurses PCC | 14:00 - 17:30

👉 Limited to 16 participants

The course is designed for operating room nurses wanted to increase their knowledge in the field of endoscopic surgery. The course will be divided in a theoretical part with a thorough and well-prepared scientific program, power point presentations and videos to help participants to understand and quickly learn the principles and the procedures of correct assistance in endoscopic surgery. Experts in instruments and equipment management will teach and provide information and guidelines in cleaning maintenance and sterilization.

The second part of the course will teach the nurses how to use several devices essential for MIS.

All participants will learn the instruments / equipment and they will practice the instruments preparation and the setup as needed in the OR. They will also assist as instrumentalists and running nurses for the most frequent endoscopic interventions in gynaecological surgeries.

Course Objectives:

Nursing Management in Minimal Invasive Gynaecological Surgery

To gain:

  • Knowledge and Experience in MIGS OR Nursing
  • Knowledge about Instruments, Equipment, and Energy Sources

To understand:

  • Organisation and Ergonomics of the OR

To learn:

  • New Instruments, Devices, Sterilisation Procedures

To practice:

  • On Devices, Instruments & OR Support Systems
  • How to manage OR Complications

Educational needs and expected outcomes.
  • The importance of the specific nursing work and tasks during Diagnostic and Operative Laparoscopy / Hysteroscopy will be stressed. The difficulties of single access surgery like hysteroscopy will be explained.
  • To understand several major endoscopic surgery issues e.g., fluid balance in hysteroscopy, the pre-operative patient preparation, patient positioning, quick nurse response during a difficult case will be demonstrated.
Ultrasound | 09:00 - 11:00 |

 FULLY BOOKED

👉 Limited to 60 Participants | This course is already fully booked

Course Type

Basic. Especially designed for residents and gynaecologists interested in presurgical ultrasound diagnosis.

Course description

The objective of this course is to provide the basic knowledge of transvaginal ultrasound diagnosis of uterine, adnexal and pelvis pathologies before endoscopic surgery.
